Kanna is a South African succulentZembrin® is a patented standardized extract of Sceletium tortuosum (Kanna); its use has been documented for over 300 years.
Kanna is an herb that has been used for centuries in South Africa by the San and Khoikhoi tribes.
Zembrin is a standardized extract of the aerial parts of Sceletium, extracted with 70% ethanol, spray dried onto maltodextrin. It contains four active alkaloids including: mesembrenone, mesembrenol, mesembranol and mesembrine. Each tablet contains the equivalent of material derived from 50mg of the dried aerial plant.
Note
Not much is known about the interactions of Sceletium tortuosum and medications. Be careful when using SSRIs, MAO inhibitors, benzodiazepines and medications for cardiovascular diseases.
