What is Elke Dag Senior?

Every Day 50+ Capsules (formerly Every Day Senior Capsules) is designed for the over 50s who prefer capsules over tablets. Each Day 50+ Capsules contains exactly the same doses per two capsules as the product. Each Day 50+ Tablets, with the exception of vitamin C (100 mg instead of 200 mg), calcium (30 mg instead of 150 mg) and magnesium (30 mg instead of 100 mg). These are dosed lower in the capsules, simply because there is more fit in a tablet than in two capsules.

What's new?

Based on the recent food consumption survey, the average intakes of people over 50 in the Netherlands were examined and the needs were reassessed, based on current scientific insights. This has led to a reduction in the B vitamins, with which large doses are still achieved. The increased need for folate and vitamin B12 is also still amply met. In addition, the amount of choline has been increased from 25 mg to 85 mg. Important for normal lipid metabolism, homocysteine metabolism and normal liver function. Vitamin D3 has been increased from 25 mcg to 35 mcg and now from vegetable source. 45 mcg of vitamin K1 has been added and vitamin K2 has been increased from 40 to 90 mcg. The calcium has been increased from 30 mg to 150 mg and the magnesium from 30 mg to 100 mg. In addition, a proven stable form of vitamin K2 (K2Vital® Delta) is used. And these now come from a natural source, from the sea (Aquamin®). Finally, in addition to the special nutrients silicon, boron, Q10, alpha lipoic acid and pterostilbene, slutein and zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin and PQQ have now also been added.

B Vitamins in Optimal Forms and Dosages

Each Day 50+ Capsules contain 150 mcg of vitamin B12 in the biologically active forms of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (also called dibencozide), as well as 300 mcg of active folate. This multi uses the superior form of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate bound to glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®). The binding with glucosamine salt makes it possible to keep the biologically active form stable and ensures optimal absorption. The advantage of these active forms of B12 and folate is that they can be used directly by the body and do not have to be converted first.

High doses of vitamins D3 and K2

Vitamin K contributes to calcium reaching the right place, in the bones. This is important for this age group. Each Day 50+ contains 45 mcg of K1 (phytomenadione) and a whopping 90 mcg of vitamin K2. Vitamin D is also important for the bones, but has a much broader scope and also has a favorable influence on, among other things, the resistance, muscle function and normal cell division. Given the great importance and the many beneficial properties of vitamin D, one tablet therefore contains a high dose of 35 mcg of vitamin D3.

Eye condition support and special additions

Every Day 50+ also contains vitamin A, vitamin B2 and zinc to help keep sharp vision, and higher doses of lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin have been added. Finally, the special substances Q10, alpha lipoic acid, pterostilbene and PQQ have been added.
