What is Vitals Saffron-LCS Organic?

Saffron is called the 'red gold' because of its preciousness. Unfortunately, the high raw material price means that saffron of inferior quality is also offered on the market. The origin, production method and purity of saffron is decisive for its quality and efficacy.

Saffron-LCS Organic (which stands for Lepticrosalides®, see below) contains the high-quality extract Affron®. Both the cultivation of the unsprayed, organic saffron and the manufacture of the saffron extract take place at producer Pharmactive in Spain. Because the entire production chain is under our own management, ideal cultivation conditions can be ensured and quality can be guaranteed. The producer also has DNA tests done on their saffron (not for nothing!) by an external party as extra confirmation that Affron® is made from 100% real saffron.

Patented extraction method and composition

Using a specially developed extraction method, an extract is obtained from the pure raw material, which is standardized to 3.5% Lepticrosalides®, a patented complex of the main active ingredients in saffron (such as safranal, crocin and picrocrocin). A correct analysis method is very important to properly measure the active substances in a saffron extract and not to get a distorted picture. It is quite unique in the saffron world that Affron® uses the HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis method.

Scientific basis

Producer Pharmactive considers the scientific substantiation of its products very important. Affron® with 3.5% Lepticrosalides® is therefore used in scientific research, such as in a recent study in healthy adults where the effect of supplementation with Affron® on mood was measured. In many cases, a daily dose of 28 mg Affron® appears to be sufficient to support the state of mind.

Organic

The active ingredients of organic food supplements are guaranteed to be of natural origin and not synthetically manufactured. In addition, the environment, animals and people are taken into account as much as possible during production. What is meant by this is defined in various regulations. Among other things, no chemical pesticides, fertilizers or genetically modified organisms are used. The Skal Biocontrole institute checks whether the regulations are complied with and whether a product may be called organic. Organic products can be recognized by the NL-BIO-01 code and the European organic quality mark.
